Swap Characters Often

In Expedition 33, characters who take part in a fight earn a hefty increase to experience relative to those on the bench. Furthermore, the narrative will sometimes force you to use specific characters. The easiest method to these challenges is to rotate your team and aim to keep everyone at a similar level.

The upside is that leveling up is fairly fast. Battles provide a generous amount of XP, sometimes enough for a stat increase after just a few. You can refresh an local foes by taking a break at an save point—these points are scattered in each zone. If you need to gain levels quickly, simply engage in combat near a flag, use the flag, and repeat.

Change Accessories Regularly

You have two primary ways to provide bonus effects to your allies: Picto accessories and Lumina abilities.

• Pictos are items which provide stat boosts and also feature a special ability. A character can equip a maximum of three Pictos. After being worn, winning four fights with a Picto grants access to its corresponding Lumina.
• Luminas function differently but essentially act as equippable passives. A party member has a pool of skill points (which can be increased via consumables). A Lumina has a required LP amount. As long as a character has enough points, there is no limit can benefit from the same Lumina, allowing you to stack useful effects across your entire team.

The most efficient approach is to make sure one of your characters is wearing any new accessory and wins the required fights to reveal its Lumina. Doing this the ability will be available for later builds.

Break Is Your Greatest Advantage

The Break status effect is a battle-altering condition that can turn the tide. As you whittle down health, a special bar fills up beneath their health bar. Upon maxing out, you can apply the Break status, which reduces their armor by 20% and skips their turn for an entire round. It is the top-tier status effect in the game, but only certain abilities can trigger it.

Allocate Points Deliberately

You can reset your build using a limited consumable called a Recoat item. Given its scarcity, it's smart to plan your build prior to using your attribute points. Experiment with a hero's kit and plan a build strategy in advance.

Always Use the Expedition Flag

Stopping at an expedition flag completely restores your entire party and refreshes all of your consumables, including healing potions and Revive Tints. Make it a habit to use each flag you see!

Expedition flags also function as the closest thing to navigation in the game. You won't find a mini-map, GPS, or quest indicators. But, each flag has a identifier. At a flag, you can see a menu of all discovered flags in that area under a navigation option. It's a simple but effective way to track your progress.

Glowing Cages Are Invariably Rewarding

Paint Cages are basically sealed loot boxes that require you to locate and shoot three hidden locks in the immediate vicinity to claiming the prize.
