Attorney General's Statement
The head of the Justice Department, Pam Bondi, announced Habba's resignation on the start of the week. She commented that the court's "flawed" ruling made it "untenable" for her to lead the department effectively.
"Let no one confuse adherence to the ruling as defeat," Habba stated. "My fight will now stretch across the nation."
Judicial Challenge
Her resignation was triggered by a federal appellate panel found that she had been serving in violation of the law as the federal prosecutor. This judgment is expected to impact numerous prosecutions in New Jersey.
