Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a Los Angeles Traffic Collision

Vince Zampella, the mind behind the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in the state of California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The renowned industry figure passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This represents an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts stated.
